At J3 Consulting, we are thrilled to celebrate the first anniversary of our Chief Information Officer, Peter Cipriano. With more than 25 years of experience in the technology industry, Peter has made significant contributions to the world of secure digital services, transforming organizations and leaving a lasting impact wherever he goes.

Peter’s expertise is underpinned by his educational foundation and ongoing pursuit of knowledge. He graduated from Marist College with a degree in Computer Science, specializing in Complex Business. His journey in the tech world began as an Application Programmer, where he honed his technical prowess and multicultural team-building skills. With a background rich in Middleware, Application Development, and Process Automation, he quickly established himself as an innovator.

Peter’s career then took off at IBM, where he held pivotal positions, including Consulting IT Specialist, IT Manager, and Associate Partner. In these roles, he was responsible for designing, deploying, and sustaining automation and cloud solutions. He played a crucial part in generating pipelines and closing opportunities in both the commercial and public sectors. Peter’s innovative mindset was further evidenced by his instrumental contribution to IBM’s foray into the cloud business. During his tenure at IBM, he created a startup within the company that specialized in data center automation projects, even before the cloud revolution. This endeavor resulted in multiple patents and set the stage for his illustrious career.

After IBM, Peter’s impact extended to Unisys, where he served as Senior Industry Director  in the Advisory group. Here, he demonstrated his commitment to building customer relationships and driving market growth. As the Senior Industry Director for Cloud Computing, Americas at Unisys, Peter was entrusted with shaping cloud strategy across the Americas for both commercial and public sectors. His role underscored his expertise in navigating the complex landscape of modern technology, where cloud services have become the cornerstone of digital transformation.

J3 Consulting welcomed Peter to the team in in August 2022, and his positive impact on the company already is evident. His role in enhancing J3’s excellence in CIO Advisory services and positioning the company as an 8(a) small business highlights his dedication to achieving new heights.

“Peter’s vision extends beyond technology itself,” said J3’s President & CEO Jeannie Jones-Ledford. “He recognizes the vital link between technology and business, especially in today’s digital economy. His focus on developing and deploying digital services for Federal, State, and Local Governments exemplifies his commitment to empowering organizations to thrive in the digital era.”

Driven by his values and ethics, Peter’s journey is a testament to his commitment to growth, both as an individual and as part of a team. He believes in taking calculated risks, a philosophy that has guided his career. As an Eagle Scout and Army Reserves member, Peter’s dedication to service and his community shines through in his work and personal life.

Beyond his 27-year career, Peter’s passion for service is evident in his diverse volunteer roles. Guiding Boy Scouts as an Assistant Scoutmaster and sparking interest in Science and Technology with Engineers Week, Peter nurtures future leaders. His role as a Knights of Columbus Officer emphasizes community bonds, while coaching youth sports and teaching faith education show his dedication. Peter’s support for student veterans underscores his commitment to education and welfare. His volunteer journey mirrors his values of leadership, service, and community impact.
